NAfME Members at a park holding a sign that reads "We Did It!"Located at the University of New Mexico, this local collegiate chapter of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) seeks to create opportunities for professional development; educate students in the field and responsibilities of the music education profession; encourage community involvement in the area of music education; and to equip the Music Education undergraduate and graduate students at the University of New Mexico 

 

Nearly all professions have professional organizations that provide opportunities for members to share ideas. NAfME is the professional organization for music educators.

As a Collegiate member of NAfME, you will have many opportunities to meet with full-time music educators, attend workshops and clinics, and participate in social activities within your music ed community at UNM.

 

There are many resources available to Collegiate members that provide information and materials that can be used for school assignments and research throughout your education. Collegiate members find that the networking opportunities available to them as NAfME members have played a significant role in getting job interviews, landing jobs, and succeeding in their careers as music educators after graduation. NAfME Collegiate membership provides the opportunity for you to get a head start in your profession.
